Hello! And welcome to Next Level IRL! I’m your host, Stephanie, and in this post, you’ll see why this blog was created and how it will benefit you.
Balancing Full-time Work, College, and Upskilling
Over the last few months, I committed to a career change. To successfully do this, I decided to return to college to complete my Bachelors while working full-time. In the meantime, I’m building additional technical skills in my spare time.
Right now, I work as an Agency Recruiter, and I’m looking to switch to a Data Analyst career for, not even going to lie, higher pay.
However, it’s more than that: Believe it or not, I enjoy the idea of problem solving, project-based work, and the idea of taking information we already have to find answers to questions and even predict the future!
I’ve returned to college online for a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, with a concentration in Data Analytics. There’s a long story involved with my college drama, so I’ll spare you…for now. Anyway, my estimated graduation date if all goes well is February 2027 (feels like so far away, haha).
Because I’m so ambitious, I’ve been working on incorporating skill building for technical tools involved in the career. However, I’ve been so busy trying to juggle everything else, I had to put that on hold. I’ll get back to it eventually though!
Why you should Totally Stick Around
I created this website to document the lessons learned from balancing work, school, and building skills for a career pivot as an adult with real-life responsibilities. If you’re an adult going back to college and trying to keep up with your life, this is for you 🙂
No joke, I’m still a total newbie and have a lot to learn (especially about time and energy management), but I hope you find my struggles useful.
I want to learn from you as well! Please comment your stories, struggles, and how you’ve overcome them as a busy human.
Thanks for coming by!
